State budget expenditure as of 1 April 2024 amounted to 6.1 trillion tenge.
According to economy.kz, this is 8% higher than for the same period last year. By functional group, the largest items since the beginning of the year were distributed as follows:
- Agriculture, water, forestry, fisheries, specially protected natural areas, environmental protection and wildlife, land relations - spent 220 billion tenge (92 billion tenge more than in January-March 2023);
- Public order, safety, legal, judicial, penal activities - 303 billion tenge (45 billion tenge more than in January-March 2023));
- Public debt servicing - allocated for interest payments on government debt 723 billion tenge (164 million tenge more than in January-March 2023);
- Social assistance and welfare - 1,471 billion tenge (192 billion tenge more than in January-March 2023).
At the same time, a reduction in budget expenditure by functional group is observed in the following sectors:
- Defence – 181 billion tenge (34 billion tenge less than in January-March 2023);
- Education - 1,249 billion tenge (126 billion tenge less than in January-March 2023).
