An employee of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has been convicted of disclosing state secrets in Shymkent.
“By the verdict of the inter-district criminal court of Shymkent, citizen K. was convicted under Part 3 of Article 185 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (unlawful disclosure of state secrets) and sentenced to 5 years’ imprisonment”, the press service of the Main Transport Prosecutor’s Office reported.
It is reported that the crime was classified as one of the most serious, threatening the security of the state.
During the court proceedings, the prosecutor presented evidence that the employee had been passing secret information to third parties for a year.
“Preventing such crimes is one of the priority tasks for law enforcement agencies. The verdict has entered into legal force”, the statement reads.
