As a result of a joint operation by law enforcement agencies in Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic, the activities of an international channel through which personal data of citizens of Kazakhstan and CIS countries were illegally distributed have been disrupted. The alleged organisers of the scheme have been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.

A machine operator died after pesticide poisoning in a field in North Kazakhstan Region.

A 46-year-old machinery operator from the LLP "Kazakhstan Bidaiy" died in the Timiryazevsky district of the North Kazakhstan Region (NKR) after being poisoned by agrochemicals during field treatment. According to preliminary data, the cause of death was acute toxic poisoning by pesticides.

The head of KTZ confirmed the existence of the business and stated that there was no conflict of interest.

In three regions of Kazakhstan, livestock and saiga are dying with identical symptoms that do not fit the official diagnosis. Doctor of Veterinary Sciences Gaisa Absatirov insists it is foot-and-mouth disease. The authorities maintain it is pasteurellosis and are awaiting test results, while farmers are treating the animals with diesel fuel in the meantime.

Threefold gap in meat consumption recorded among Kazakhs with different income levels

The National Bureau of Statistics has published data on household food consumption for 2025. The study covered 11,712 households across the country. The gap in diet between the least affluent 10% and the most affluent 10% of the population for meat was 3.3 times.

2.2 million active businesses and a record output of products were recorded in Kazakhstan in 2025.

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, as of 1 January 2026, there were 2,175.6 thousand small and medium-sized business entities operating in Kazakhstan. Output for January–December 2025 amounted to 104.8 trillion tenge — a 12.3% increase compared to 2024, taking inflation into account.
