Ex-mayor of Aktobe sentenced to 3 years in prison for fraud

In Aktobe, the court found the former head of the city akimat’s administration, Nursultan Isembayuly, guilty of fraud and sentenced him to three years’ imprisonment. Following the verdict, he was taken into custody in the courtroom. The court also partially granted the civil claim and ordered additional payments.

The head of the veterinary inspectorate in the West Kazakhstan Region has been detained on suspicion of corruption.

Employers had failed to transfer mandatory pension contributions totalling approximately 300 million tenge. Following the prosecutor's office's intervention, the debt was repaid, and those responsible were held administratively liable.
