The body of 37-year-old Almaty police officer Aslan Alserov, with severe thermal injuries, was found in the Kegen District of the Almaty Region. As part of the investigation, the involvement of the deceased's wife, who also previously worked in the internal affairs bodies, is being checked.
WHERE THE BODY WAS FOUND
According to Ulysmedia.kz, the burned body of the man was found approximately 400 metres from the Kokpek – Koktal – Kegen highway in the area of the Kegen Pass. A local shepherd who was searching for livestock reported the find to law enforcement.
The investigative team identified the deceased. He turned out to be Aslan Alserov, who served as a senior detective in the Police Department of the Auezov District of Almaty. Remains of a burnt rope were found on his right wrist.
WHAT VERSION IS BEING CONSIDERED
According to the preliminary version, the crime may have occurred in the family's apartment in Almaty. Afterwards, investigators believe, the body may have been taken to the Kegen District to conceal evidence of the crime.
The final circumstances of the incident have not been officially established.
WHO IS BEING CHECKED AS PART OF THE INVESTIGATION
During the investigation, law enforcement agencies are checking the involvement of the deceased's wife, a former police officer. Also, according to sources from the publication, the couple's 14-year-old son may have been a possible witness to the incident.
WHAT STAGE THE CASE IS AT
Initially, the criminal case was investigated under the article "Murder". Later, it was reclassified under a more serious charge.
The investigative authorities are currently continuing to gather evidence and conducting the necessary investigative actions.
