In the Almaty Region, a 37-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of fatally striking his wife with his vehicle.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Department of Police (DP) of the Almaty Region, the incident occurred on the morning of 16 May on the Konayev – Bakanas highway. A 37-year-old man was driving a Hyundai Elantra company car. His wife was travelling with him in the vehicle.
According to preliminary information, an argument broke out between the couple during the journey. At some point, the woman ended up on the carriageway, after which the car struck her.
Police reported that the suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility (IVS). A criminal case has been opened regarding the incident.
"As a result of the incident, the woman died at the scene from her injuries," police reported.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE ACCUSED
Information is circulating on social media that the driver was the deputy head of the police department for the Balkhash district, Bauyrzhan Kabduldanov.
