In the village of Zhanasaz, Zhambyl Region, heavy rains have caused flooding on streets and in yards. The local administration confirmed that the water level reached 10–15 cm and affected three houses, after which the situation was stabilised. The event comes amid other flood incidents in Kazakhstan, including a dam breach in the Akmola Region, where the area had previously been marked as high risk on analysts’ maps.

The driver of a BMW has been found guilty of drifting and dangerous driving on Zhumabayeva Street. The court imposed an administrative fine, and the car has been sent to a municipal impound lot. A court in Ust-Kamenogorsk has sentenced the former deputy akim of the East Kazakhstan region, Zhaksylyk Omar, to six years in prison with confiscation of property and a lifetime ban from holding public office. He has been found guilty of fraud using his official position and of taking a bribe. Due to the crimes being classified as corruption-related, amnesty and parole do not apply to him. The sentence has not yet entered into force and may be appealed.

A group of citizens beat police officers in the Atyrau region

In the Atyrau region, in the Makat district, a group of citizens attacked police officers while on duty. As a result, two police officers were injured. All those involved in the incident have been identified, apprehended and arrested. A criminal case has been opened under Article 380 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a pre-trial investigation is underway.

A dam breach occurred in the Korgalzhyn district of the Akmola region

Water has spread across the fields and is crossing a section of the "Astana – Korgalzhyn" highway, although traffic is still moving. Emergency services, local authorities, and road maintenance teams are on site, with around 170 people and 43 units of equipment deployed. The Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan has completed an internal investigation into the conflict between the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sport of the Karaganda Region, Serik Sapiyev, and his deputy, Dauren Yesimkhanov. Environmentalists have identified the source of contamination in the ditches with pink-red water in the city of Makinsk, Akmola Region. Following an inspection, responsibility has been placed on a local industrial enterprise — Makinsk Thermal Insulation Plant LLP. An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the company, and the materials have been sent to court.
