On 23 April, a heavy downpour occurred in the city of Kentau, Turkestan Region, leading to flooding of streets, markets and the entrances to residential buildings. In some areas, water levels reached 10–25 cm. Rescue workers and municipal services were deployed to deal with the aftermath.
