On the road near the garden community "Gudok" in the North Kazakhstan Region (NKR) the movement of lorries was recorded on a section where a prohibitory road sign is installed. The police have already drawn up an administrative report against one of the drivers, and work is also underway to identify other participants who committed similar violations.
WHAT WAS CAPTURED ON VIDEO
According to the news agency "Law-Abiding Citizen", on 26 July, on the road towards the garden communities "Gudok" and "Evrika", lorries were spotted moving along a section where a road sign prohibiting lorry traffic is installed. The author of the publication claims that, despite discussions about this problem, lorries continue to use alternative routes.
The video recording also features commentary from the First Deputy Akim of NKR, Marat Tasmaganbetov. He stated that all interested parties are aware of the existence of alternative routes and also noted that lorry traffic continues on these roads despite the established restrictions.
WHAT THE POLICE REPORTED
According to information from the North Kazakhstan Region Police Department (NKR PD), officers from the Patrol Police Battalion of the Petropavlovsk City Police Department identified the driver of a Shacman vehicle who violated the requirements of road signs and road markings.
An administrative report has been drawn up against the driver. The police also reported that drivers of other vehicles who committed similar violations are currently being identified.
CONTEXT
The issue of heavy goods vehicle traffic in the NKR has been raised on multiple occasions. It was previously reported that after attempts by some drivers to bypass weigh-in-motion and size control at the entrance to Petropavlovsk, police officers registered 93 administrative offences, and the total amount of fines imposed exceeded 14 million tenge.
Furthermore, the FBRK previously conducted a detailed analysis of the work of Automated Measuring Stations (AMS) in Kazakhstan. The publication noted that the weight control system is accompanied by disputes regarding the accuracy of detecting violations and the operation of the equipment, and some decisions subsequently became the subject of prosecutor's inspections.
