The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with foreign law enforcement agencies, has detained 40 individuals involved in illicit drug trafficking. 11 individuals suspected of carrying out drug stashes have been arrested.

HOW THE SCHEME OPERATED

According to the portal Polisia.kz, the organisers were located outside the country and posted adverts on the internet for 'highly paid work'.

Under the guise of legal employment, citizens were drawn into drug-related criminal activity. Coordination was carried out through call centres, where selection, briefing, and management of the operatives' actions took place.

DETENTIONS AND SEIZURES

In 11 regions of the country, 40 citizens of Kazakhstan have been detained.

11 individuals suspected of carrying out drug stashes have been arrested. A further 9 individuals have been held administratively liable for drug use.

During the operation, synthetic drugs, computer equipment, smartphones, bank cards, and electronic storage media were seized.

COURSE OF THE INVESTIGATION

The measures taken have made it possible to identify the alleged organisers and active participants of the scheme. Work to detain them and bring them to justice continues.

WARNING

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that adverts for 'easy money' may conceal criminal schemes related to illicit drug trafficking.
