A four-year-old child who was alone near the railway tracks on the Tauarasy — Ainabulak section in the Almaty region was spotted by a freight train driver. He stopped the train and handed the boy over to station staff, after which the child was handed over to his parents.
HOW THE INCIDENT HAPPENED
According to the press service of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ), on 20 September 2026 at 12:30, the driver of a freight train travelling on the Saryozek — Ushtobe route spotted a child near the railway track. The boy was walking alone towards Ainabulak station.
The train was travelling at a speed of about 38 km/h. The driver applied the service brake, stopped the train and took the child into the locomotive cab. He reported what had happened to the train dispatcher.
WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE TRAIN STOPPED
At Ainabulak station, the boy was handed over to the duty officer, who contacted his parents. The child was not injured, reports Syrmedia.kz.
Later, police officers identified the parents and took them to the police department. Administrative proceedings were initiated against the mother for improper performance of her duties to ensure the child's safety.

The transport police urged parents not to leave small children unattended and reminded them that the railway is a high-risk zone.
