Cockroaches were found in one of the canteens in Kokshetau

In a canteen located in the Arbat Shopping Centre in central Kokshetau, cockroaches were spotted. The incident caused a public outcry and has led to the possibility of an unscheduled inspection. The canteen at Arbat is considered a popular spot among employees of nearby government and private institutions.

According to the Telegram channel «Halyqstan», a female customer of the canteen reported that the insects were moving freely over the furniture, including in the dining area. This happened during the daytime when many people were present in the establishment. The woman contacted the sanitary and epidemiological service (SES) with a report of a breach of sanitary standards.

The Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control for the Akmola Region confirmed the receipt of the complaint. The acting head of the department, Saulen Sadavkasova, stated that a decision regarding an unscheduled inspection of the catering facility is currently being considered jointly with the prosecutor's office.

If violations of sanitary requirements are identified as a result of the inspection, the owners of the establishment could face administrative penalties, including a fine, and in the case of serious violations, temporary suspension of operations.

It is important to remember that compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards in public catering establishments is a key factor for the safety and health of visitors. Citizens are advised not to remain indifferent to such cases and to inform the supervisory authorities in a timely manner.

The issue of sanitary conditions in public places is not being raised for the first time

In February, we reported that in the Samal kindergarten in the city of Kandyagash, Mugalzhar district, Aktobe region, more than 19 kg of oat flakes infested with insects were destroyed. At the same time, the institution was fined.

Around the same time, it became known that the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Prosecutor General's Office had taken an interest in the condition of passenger carriages. The First Deputy Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Service, Ulan Sarkulov, stated that the majority of Kazakhstan's trains are in unsatisfactory condition. People have been mass-complaining about unsanitary conditions, insects and low standards of service in the carriages.

These cases demonstrate the systemic nature of the problem related to the monitoring of sanitary conditions in public spaces.
