In the Turkestan Region, following reports of mass fish deaths and an alleged discharge of wastewater into the Badam River, an unscheduled inspection has been ordered for Balmuzdak LLP. Specialists have already taken wastewater samples, and final conclusions about the causes of the incident will be made after laboratory tests are completed.
WHAT HAPPENED
As reported by a user on Threads, mass fish deaths were recorded in four fish farms along the Badam River in the Tolebi District.
The author of the post claimed that the cause could be industrial waste from Balmuzdak LLP, which produces goods under the Lengerskoye brand, and called on the relevant authorities to conduct an inspection and laboratory examination.
WHAT THE ECOLOGY DEPARTMENT SAID
According to Qumash, citing the Ecology Department of the Turkestan Region, on 20 July the department received a complaint from a resident of Shymkent about the discharge of white-coloured wastewater into the Badam River by Balmuzdak LLP, as well as mass fish deaths in a nearby fish farm.
After receiving the complaint, specialists visited the site, conducted an inspection, and took wastewater samples for laboratory analysis.
Furthermore, based on the complaint from an individual named B. Orazkulov, an unscheduled inspection of Balmuzdak LLP has been ordered in accordance with the requirements of the Entrepreneurial Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
WHEN WILL THE RESULTS BE KNOWN
The Ecology Department reported that final conclusions about the causes of the pollution and mass fish deaths will be made after the laboratory tests and the unscheduled inspection of the enterprise are completed.
The department stressed that decisions based on the inspection results will be made in accordance with the requirements of current legislation, and it promised to announce the results at a later date.

Balmuzdak LLP, known for the Lengerskoye brand, produces more than 230 types of products, including ice cream, cocoa, chocolate sweets, sugar confectionery, and frozen food semi-finished products.
