President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called for a stronger fight against vandalism following an incident in the Ybykty Sai tract in the Mangystau Region. The head of state instructed the relevant authorities to take strict legal measures.

Speaking at a ceremony awarding workers in culture and the arts, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that society must resolutely oppose acts of vandalism and disrespect for public and natural assets.
"Regarding the recent incident in the Ybykty Sai tract in the Mangystau Region, the relevant authorities must take strict legal measures. We must all resolutely oppose such unlawful incidents," Tokayev said.
The President also emphasised the importance of the principles of lawfulness, care for nature, responsibility, and constructive patriotism. According to him, these values should become part of public consciousness, especially among young people.

According to Polisia.kz, in May 2026 the act of vandalism was discovered during a monitoring of social networks. Law enforcement officers established that the inscriptions on the rocks were made by a 21-year-old resident of the Mangystau Region.

As reported by the police, the man wrote his name and car registration number on the rocks. He was later ordered to remove the inscriptions and restore the area to its original condition.
The court sentenced the man to 25 days of administrative detention.
