Police have identified 40 cases of human trafficking in three days

Ministry of Internal Affairs officers identified 40 crimes related to human trafficking, involvement in prostitution, including of minors, keeping brothels and pandering over three days. 

According to Polisia.kz, at the same time police registered 156 administrative offences for providing premises for pandering and 640 for soliciting in public places. 

Furthermore, law enforcement officers conducted raids on the premises of factories, markets and construction sites. For example, in the Zhambyl region, foreign nationals working in violation of migration legislation were identified at one of the factories. 

A similar incident was established in the North Kazakhstan region, where 14 foreigners were working on a construction site in violation of migration legislation. Administrative protocols were drawn up against the offenders.

In addition, the Organised Crime Department of the Shymkent Police Department detained four people who were involving city residents aged 18 to 23 years in prostitution

"The criminals blackmailed the victims using existing intimate photographs. Two criminal cases have been registered regarding these facts under Article 308, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (Involvement in Prostitution) and Article 309, Part 2 of the Criminal Code (Pandering). The suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility", the statement says.

Also in Almaty, police officers detained seven organisers and keepers of "body massage" salons

In the Turkestan region, two residents of the Kyzylorda region, born in 2007 and 2006, were detained for selling pornographic videos, including those involving minors.

"This fact has been registered in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 312, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (Production and circulation of materials or objects with pornographic images of minors or their involvement in pornographic entertainment events). The organiser has been placed in a temporary detention facility", the department noted.

In another case in the Abay region, police identified a resident of Ayagoz city who, in December of last year, sold two residents of the region for exploitation on farms. Criminal cases have been initiated regarding these facts under Article 128, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Human Trafficking)

Officers from the Organised Crime Department of the Karaganda Regional Police Department detained a man who, for money, arranged with mothers of young girls to commit sexually depraved acts and record child pornography.

All suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility. Pre-trial investigations have been initiated under Article 121, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Violent acts of a sexual nature against a minor) and under Article 135, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Trafficking in minors).
