In Aktau, a crush occurred during the submission of documents for the youth labour programme "Zhasyl El". After a sudden build-up of people inside the building, one female visitor required medical assistance.
HOW THE CRUSH HAPPENED
According to Lada.kz, the incident took place on 18 May outside the "Arman" Youth Centre, located in Microdistrict 6 of Aktau. Footage shows a large crowd both outside and inside the building.
A resident of the city said she arrived at the document submission site around 06:00, but a queue list was already in place. Later, it emerged that there were two lists, forcing people to register again.
By 09:00, a large crowd had gathered at the entrance. According to the woman, some of those who arrived early were unable to get inside the building. She also complained about the lack of organised order and suggested moving the document submission process online.
WHAT THE AKIMAT SAID
The akimat explained that the acceptance of applications began at 09:00.
According to the department, more than 100 people had gathered outside the building. Due to the sudden congregation of citizens inside the premises, a crush occurred, resulting in one female visitor feeling unwell.
An ambulance crew arrived promptly at the scene. The woman received the necessary assistance, and according to the department, there is no threat to her life or health.
WHAT MEASURES WERE TAKEN AFTER THE INCIDENT
Following the incident, the organisers implemented additional measures to manage the flow of visitors. Specifically, they increased the number of document submission windows and brought in up to 20 specialists to register citizens.
In addition, a separate waiting hall was arranged, with a capacity for 140 people. The akimat stated that after this, the application submission process was able to return to normal operation.
