A presentation of a collection of statements by the President of Kazakhstan, “Әділетті қоғамға – шыншыл сөз” (“Towards a Just Society — An Honest Word”), took place in Atyrau. At the meeting, representatives of the intelligentsia, historians, philosophers, teachers and young people discussed the ideas in the book and their connection with contemporary social processes.
WHAT THE BOOK IS ABOUT
As reported by the Regional Communications Service, the event was held with the participation of Daryn Shamuratov, Deputy Akim of Atyrau Region, who acted as moderator of the meeting. Participants included civil servants, literary scholars, maslikhat deputies, entrepreneurs and community activists.
The collection “Әділетті қоғамға - шыншыл сөз” includes statements by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev from reports, articles, interviews and books, dating back to the early years of the country's independence. The publication covers themes of strengthening statehood, justice and the rule of law, education and science, national values, historical consciousness, culture, language and spirituality, as well as the upbringing of the younger generation.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAID
Murat Uteshov, Chairman of the Atyrau Regional Council of Veterans, noted that the book's distinctive feature is the discernible interconnection between the President's thoughts expressed over different years. In his words, the significant attention devoted to young people in the collection is particularly important, since the country's long-term development depends on an educated, hardworking and responsible younger generation.
Aliya Dauletbayeva, Chairwoman of the Atyrau Regional Branch of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, focused on statements about culture and national values:
“This is a guide to improving the quality of human capital and healing society. The Head of State pays special attention to preserving the national cultural code. Language, literature, history, traditions and culture, which define national identity, are the spiritual mainstay of society. Therefore, the country's modernisation must not become detached from national values. Only a citizen with a high level of culture, shaped by historical consciousness and a respectful attitude towards national values, is capable of contributing to the qualitative development of society,” said Dauletbayeva.
She also stressed that preserving the national cultural code is not only about glorifying the past, but also about renewing it in line with the demands of the times and passing it on to subsequent generations.
Views were also shared by Nurlan Kairdenov, Deputy of the Atyrau Regional Maslikhat, entrepreneur and community activist, and Abylai Kurmetuly, Chairman of the Atyrau Regional Branch of the “Zhastar Rukhу” youth wing.
HOW THE EVENT CONCLUDED
At the end of the presentation, copies of the collection “Әділетті қоғамға – шыншыл сөз” were presented to the heads of youth resource centres in Atyrau Region.
