The final joint session of the chambers of the Parliament of Kazakhstan is taking place in Astana. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the session, summing up the 30-year work of the Parliament and outlining key directions for the country's further development.

WHAT THE PRESIDENT SAID

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the creation of the Parliament 30 years ago a historic event, noting that the legislative body had contributed to strengthening the rule of law and developing the economy.

The President reported that during this period, approximately 3,000 laws were adopted, with every tenth law initiated by deputies. According to him, every law of independent Kazakhstan was passed for the benefit of citizens, and deputies continued their work regardless of the complexity of the challenges facing the country.

In his speech, the Head of State stated the need to make bold decisions that meet the demands of the times. He also noted that economic plans must be implemented in the next 2 years, as the global situation may become more complicated.

The President also stated that within 3 years, Kazakhstan must be transformed into a developed and digital state.

ON THE SOVEREIGNTY AND UNITY OF THE COUNTRY

Among the key tasks, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted strengthening sovereignty, improving the welfare of the population, ensuring security, and enhancing the quality of life for citizens.

The President also noted that issues of sovereignty and independence remain relevant.

During his speech, the Head of State emphasised that Kazakhstan remains a united nation and urged not to abandon the set goals, despite the existing challenges.
