WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Mangystau Regional Police Department, the tragedy occurred on 13 May on an internal road near a residential building in microdistrict 27 of Aktau. An official vehicle struck an eighteen-month-old child. A law enforcement officer was driving the car, reports Lada.kz.
The police reported that the boy suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
WHAT CASE WAS OPENED
A criminal case has been initiated into the incident under Part 3 of Article 345 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Violation of traffic rules or operation of vehicles by persons driving vehicles").
