Police identified widespread violations of traffic rules by participants in a wedding procession in the Ulytau Region. Following the investigation, eight cars were sent to an impound lot, and 22 administrative protocols were issued against those involved.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to journalist Mikhail Kozachkov on his Telegram channel “Kozachkov offside”, police attention was drawn to a video of a wedding procession filmed in the Ulytau Region. The footage shows several SUVs driving into oncoming traffic, moving in a zigzag pattern and reversing, with passengers leaning out of windows and sunroofs.
After the video was posted, officers from the police department of the Ulytau Region identified all participants of the wedding procession.
WHAT MEASURES DID THE POLICE TAKE
According to the Ulytau Region Police Department, drivers of 8 vehicles committed traffic violations. All cars were impounded.
22 administrative offence protocols were issued against those involved. 5 drivers had their driving licences revoked, while the rest received administrative fines.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE VIDEO ORGANISER
The video of the incident was recorded by Ulan Nauken, head of the “Alliance of Students of Kazakhstan” and a student ombudsman. The clip was later published on Instagram and spread widely online.
After the investigation, Ulan Nauken was also issued an administrative offence protocol for petty hooliganism. Subsequently, the Karazhal City Court found him guilty and sentenced him to 10 days of administrative arrest.
