CONTEXT
The case in the Talgar district has attracted additional attention, as this is not the first high-profile murder in this region recently.
Earlier, the case of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat, who died in Talgar on the night of 4 October 2024 after a conflict near his family's shop, sparked widespread public outcry. According to media reports, the teenager sustained fatal injuries, including a stab wound, during a conflict involving several people.
The trial in this case took place in Taldykorgan. In June 2025, the court sentenced nine defendants: they received sentences ranging from 1 year 6 months to 23 years in prison for a number of charges, including murder, attempted murder and hooliganism.
