A lawyer and blogger, Adiletkhan Moldakhan, has been detained in Almaty and placed in a temporary detention facility (IVS) as part of a pre-trial investigation. He had previously been vocal on social media about the high-profile road traffic accident on Al-Farabi Avenue, publishing his own versions of events.

The lawyer's assistants first reported the detention, and the police later confirmed the information.
"The Police Department of the city of Almaty has registered a pre-trial investigation against citizen M. for the dissemination of deliberately false information. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility," reported the press service of the Almaty Police Department (DP).
WHO IS ADILETKHAN MOLDAKHAN
Adiletkhan Moldakhan is a lawyer and blogger with an audience of over 1 million followers on Instagram. He gained notoriety for posts offering advice on getting fines written off and interacting with police officers.
Journalist Mikhail Kozachkov, in his Telegram channel "Kozachkov offside" reported that Moldakhan previously served in the internal affairs bodies as a patrol officer. In 2023, he was sentenced by a court to 3 years of restricted freedom for a robbery case. He was also dismissed from the police force on negative grounds.
In recent days, Adiletkhan Moldakhan has been actively commenting on the high-profile accident on Al-Farabi Avenue. In his posts, he put forward his own versions of events, including claims that a police service vehicle may have been involved in the alleged street races.
