The fire occurred in the basement of a children's hospital in the Saraishyk district of the city of Astana. Firefighting units arrived at the scene within two minutes of receiving the report and extinguished the fire. There are no casualties.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), the fire broke out on Koshkarbayev Street in an electrical panel room located in the basement of the children's hospital building.
After the firefighting units arrived, personnel immediately began extinguishing the fire. To ensure safety, staff and patients were evacuated from the building and temporarily relocated to other nearby medical facilities.
HOW THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED
A firefighting command post was established at the scene. A heating point was also set up for those evacuated.
The fire was extinguished over an area of 10 square metres. The statement specifies that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE CAUSES
The MES noted that the cause of the fire is being determined.
