On the evening of 9 March, a conflict broke out between a passenger and a driver on a bus in Taraz. During the fight, the driver sustained a knife wound and was taken to hospital. The suspect was detained by police officers.
HOW THE CONFLICT OCCURRED
According to eyewitnesses, the passenger demanded that the driver continue driving, despite the end of his working hours. The argument escalated into a fight, during which the man inflicted a knife wound on the driver.
POLICE RESPONSE
As reported by the Police Department of the Zhambyl Region (PDR), law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the scene.
“The suspect was caught hot on his heels and placed in a temporary detention facility. The driver was taken to hospital. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident,” the department’s press service noted.
