In Kazakhstan, thanks to digital data exchange, the driving licences of more than 10,000 people who have medical contraindications to driving have been suspended.
HOW CONTRAINDICATIONS ARE IDENTIFIED
The information systems of the Ministry of Health, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) are integrated to identify citizens who are medically unfit to drive.
The Ministry of Health transmits information about citizens who are under dynamic medical observation and have the relevant contraindications. Based on digital analysis, their driving licences are suspended.
As reported by Deputy Minister of Health Yerbol Ospanov, the list of diseases for which driving is contraindicated includes eight types of nosologies.
HOW THE MEDICAL CERTIFICATE HAS CHANGED
At the same time, the process of medical examination when obtaining a driving licence has been digitised in Kazakhstan. The medical certificate has been converted to electronic format, and the results of passing the medical commission are reflected in information systems.
This means that information about the medical examination is recorded in digital systems linked to the driving licence issuance process.
Yerbol Ospanov stated that work on the digital exchange of medical and other data will continue.
