In Ekibastuz on 24 May 2026, a Gazelle lorry reversing on the pavement struck a woman who was walking with a child. As a result of the incident, the woman sustained serious injuries and was hospitalised. According to medics and police, the child was not injured.

According to the Police Department of Pavlodar Region, a criminal case has been opened in connection with the road traffic accident (RTA). The lorry has been placed in a specialised compound.
Police reported that, according to preliminary data, the driver of the GAZ vehicle, while performing a reversing manoeuvre, struck a pedestrian who was walking with a child. Investigative actions are ongoing.
WHAT IS THE CONDITION OF THE VICTIM
According to information from the Pavlodar Region Health Department, the victim is a 27-year-old woman born in 1999.
Medics recorded that she had polytrauma, multiple fractures and abrasions. After the incident, the patient was hospitalised in the intensive care unit. Once her condition stabilised, she was transferred to the trauma department.
At the time of publication, the woman's condition is assessed as stable and of moderate severity. She is receiving the necessary medical care.

The Pavlodar Region Police Department clarified that the child was not injured in the collision and did not require medical assistance. This information was confirmed by relatives of the injured woman.
