5 October a lift in the Grand Atyrau residential complex made an emergency descent from the third floor. There were four people in the car: three were taken to hospital for a medical examination, and one passenger refused medical assistance.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Atyrau city akimat, the incident occurred in block "B" of the Grand Atyrau residential complex, located at Kulmanova Street, 1B. The lift made an emergency descent from the third floor.
An ambulance crew took three residents to hospital for examination. According to preliminary data, their condition is assessed as satisfactory. The fourth passenger refused medical assistance.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE CAUSES
According to preliminary data, the accident may have occurred due to overloading of the lift car.
The Atyrau akimat instructed the responsible services to promptly establish the circumstances of the incident.
WHAT MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN
The akim of Atyrau, Daniyar Takhanov, arrived at the scene of the incident, examined the situation and met with residents and representatives of the responsible services. He took the circumstances of the accident under his personal control.
The responsible services have also been instructed to carry out a full inspection of the technical condition of all lifts in Atyrau and to assess their level of safety.
