Ministry of Transport has changed the rules governing the procedure for paying tolls on motorways.

WHAT HAS CHANGED

Previously, if a driver did not pay the toll within 7 days, on the 8th day the materials were sent to the transport control authorities for consideration under the Code on Administrative Offences.

Under the new rules:

  • for individuals the materials will be sent to the transport control authorities on the 31st day after the journey, if payment has not been made within 30 calendar days;
  • for legal entities the materials will be sent to the transport control authorities on the next day after the 20th day of the month following the reporting month, if payment has not been made.

“The changes will give drivers more time to pay tolls and reduce the number of administrative fines for late payment,” reported the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The order will come into force 10 days after its official publication.
