Kazakhstan has officially approved the Digital Qazaqstan until 2029 strategy. The document defines the main directions for the country's digitalisation and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.
WHAT THE PRESIDENT SIGNED
According to the Akorda press service, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree "On the approval of the National Strategy for large-scale digitalisation and total implementation of artificial intelligence technologies Digital Qazaqstan until 2029".

CONTEXT
In April, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke at the awards ceremony for the winners of the Alem.ai battle and AI Governance Cup competitions. The President then stated that total digitalisation and the introduction of artificial intelligence are key factors in the comprehensive modernisation of Kazakhstan.
During his speech, the Head of State announced that the Digital Qazaqstan strategy will determine the direction of the country's digital development.
According to the President, a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development has been established in Kazakhstan, a legislative framework for the introduction of new technologies has been formed, the Digital Code has been adopted, and the Law "On Artificial Intelligence" has come into force.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also reminded that the current year has been declared the Year of Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in the country.
