Депутат Мурат Абенов заявил о готовности ответить за публикацию о задержании иностранцев с оружием

Mazhilis Deputy Murat Abenov stated that he is ready to accept responsibility if the dissemination of false information is proven. The reason was his post about the alleged detention of two foreigners with weapons in a residential complex in Astana.

WHAT THE DEPUTY SAID

According to Nege.kz, Murat Abenov reported that he does not believe he has broken the law. According to him, the police did not deny the very fact that the items were found, but merely clarified that they were antique weapons.

"In general, I am ready to bear responsibility. I am an experienced social media user with thousands of followers. I know the legislation well and, moreover, I participated in drafting these laws myself," the deputy stated.

According to the Mazhilis member, his message concerned the very fact that the weapons were found, not the legal classification of the situation.

"I said that weapons were found. That they were found is the truth. But the police claim they are antique. And is an antique weapon not a weapon? No one denied my information; on the contrary, it was confirmed," said Abenov.

He also added that, in his opinion, questions remain open regarding the citizenship of these people and the reasons for moving boxes of weapons in a residential building at night.

CONTEXT

Earlier, Murat Abenov wrote that in the Highvill residential complex in Astana, the police detained two foreigners with an arsenal of weapons. In the post, he also stated that it involved an apartment linked to Nazarbayev University.

Later, the Astana city police department stated that the information about the detention was not true. According to the department, the fact of bringing in the items was confirmed, but they were antique weapons.

Nazarbayev University also denied any involvement in the situation, stating that the owners of the items are not employees or lecturers of the university.

Thus, specific details of the deputy's initial publication, including the information about the detention and the link to the university, were not confirmed by official comments.
