A resident of Astana published a series of posts on Threads in which she claimed there had been years of complaints about the operation of a hotel located near residential buildings. According to her, one of the hotel's guests gave birth to a child in a room and left it in a sewer drain.

WHAT PROMPTED THE COMPLAINT

According to the author of the post, the hotel has been operating near residential buildings for several years. She claims that residents regularly hear screams and noise at night and have called the police on numerous occasions, but, in her words, the situation has not changed for a long time.

The post states that last month, a man died on the hotel premises. The author noted that residents were later informed of a death resulting from a heart attack.

WHAT OTHER CLAIMS ARE IN THE POST

According to the author, one of the hotel's guests gave birth to a child in one of the rooms and left it in a sewer drain. The author claims the child was found following a report from a neighbour, and criminal investigation officers arrived at the scene.

THE HOTEL'S RESPONSE

In the comments on the post, some users suggested the hotel in question might be Hot room. The author of the posts did not name the hotel or provide its address.

Later, in her replies, she specifically emphasised that she had deliberately not disclosed the name of the establishment and urged people not to spread unverified information.

In the comments, users published a screenshot of a response attributed to the hotel Hot room on the 2GIS service. In it, the hotel representatives state that the information being spread is false, indicate that the woman referred to in one of the posts died of heart failure with no signs of violent death, and also report that they assisted the investigation in finding the woman who left the child.

Furthermore, the response contains a demand to delete the post and a warning about potential liability for spreading defamation.

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE POST

Later, the author of the Threads post reported that journalists had come to see the residents, and also thanked the acting head of the investigative department, who, according to her, had already taken concrete measures. What specific actions were taken is not specified in the post.

The author also asked users not to spread unverified information and not to name a specific hotel without confirmed data, noting that her original post was published to draw journalists' attention to the problems of the area's residents.

WHAT THE POLICE REPORTED

According to the IA "Kazinform" citing the Police Department (PD) of the city of Astana, since the beginning of 2026, 19 reports have been received via channel "102" from the aforementioned hotel. 13 people have been brought to administrative responsibility for violating noise regulations, and another 3 people for violating public order.

Police also reported that a case of a foetus being found had previously been registered at this hotel. A 29-year-old woman has been detained in connection with this case, and a pre-trial investigation is underway.

In connection with the identified offences, the hotel owner has been issued a notice to eliminate the causes and conditions conducive to the commission of criminal and other offences. The area is under constant monitoring by local police inspectors, and preventative work is being carried out with the hotel management and residents.
