CONTEXT
This is not the first incident linked to attacks on Kazakh media and the spread of false information in the name of journalists and public figures.
Earlier, fake accounts in the name of journalist Dinara Yegeubayeva appeared online, through which false information was spread about her allegedly applying for political asylum in the USA and receiving international grants.
Another case relates to the copying of media resources. Unknown individuals created websites imitating the design of Exclusive․kz and spread material in their name about the former chairman of the Ak Zhol party, Azat Peruashev.
In addition, a clone Telegram channel of the NEGE publication appeared online, publishing material containing accusations against the politician. On these facts, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) ordered forensic examinations as part of a criminal case into the dissemination of knowingly false information.
