Former Mazhilis MP and former chairman of the Ak Zhol party Azat Peruashev has reported a mass distribution of messages from unknown numbers and a bot attack on the Ak Zhol party's social media accounts. On the morning of 24 September, his WhatsApp account was also blocked.
WHAT MESSAGES AZAT PERUASHEV RECEIVED
As Azat Peruashev reported in his Telegram channel, the party's social media accounts are receiving messages from bots repeating information from previously circulated fake material. He linked what was happening not only to his own public activity, but also to the reputation of the Ak Zhol party.
Peruashev also reported that he had received more than 200 such messages on his personal numbers.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WHATSAPP ACCOUNT
On the morning of 24 September, Peruashev reported that his WhatsApp account had been given the status "Account under review". He allowed for the possibility of hacking and warned that suspicious or provocative messages could be sent from his number.
Later, Peruashev reported that the account had been unblocked.
He also stated that Ak Zhol representatives had already contacted law enforcement agencies with a request to help identify the individuals behind what was happening and hold them accountable as provided for by law.
CONTEXT
Earlier, Azat Peruashev stated that unknown individuals were distributing fake material about him through websites copying the design of the publication Exclusive․kz. The editorial team confirmed the existence of at least three such resources and stated that it had not published the material.
The former MP called the publication a provocation and stated his intention to contact law enforcement agencies.
