An environmental campaign to collect plastic bottles has launched in Atyrau and the six rural districts under the city's administration, with participants receiving ice cream as a reward. The campaign is being held as part of the nationwide environmental programme «Таза Қазақстан».
CAMPAIGN TERMS
For every 10 plastic bottles collected, participants receive one ice cream. The initiative is primarily aimed at children and is designed to motivate them to contribute to keeping the environment clean.
SCOPE OF THE CAMPAIGN
The organisers plan to give away 7,000 portions of ice cream, for which they expect to collect around 70,000 plastic bottles. To date, approximately 30,000 plastic bottles have already been collected in the Damba, Atyrau and Kenozek rural districts.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE COLLECTED PLASTIC
The collected plastic will be sent for recycling. The campaign not only helps keep the area clean, but also draws residents' attention to the importance of separate waste collection and recycling. The event will continue in stages across the city of Atyrau and its rural districts.
