WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH FLYARYSTAN FLIGHTS
FlyArystan has extended the suspension of flights on the Aktau — Dubai — Aktau route until 30 September. Previously, the restrictions were in place until 15 September 2026 inclusive and were linked to the ongoing unstable situation in the Middle East.
Passengers on cancelled FlyArystan flights are eligible for a full refund of their tickets with no penalties deducted. The source material provided states that tickets for this route are available from 3 October under the winter schedule.
WHY THE RESTRICTIONS HAVE ARISEN
The restrictions are linked to the unstable situation in the Middle East. Previously, air links with the region had already encountered restrictions due to the closure of Iranian airspace and threats to flight safety.
On 28 February 2026, Air Astana cancelled a number of flights to the Middle East following the closure of Iranian airspace. Among them were flights from Almaty and Astana to Dubai. Aircraft on some flights returned to their departure airports, while one Almaty — Dubai flight was diverted to Delhi.
