Main Transport Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan has identified safety requirement violations at 448 passenger carriers. Following the inspection, 124 carriers were brought to administrative liability, and a further 36 lost their licences. Since the beginning of the year, the number of road traffic accidents involving bus drivers has increased by 5.9%.

WHAT VIOLATIONS THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE IDENTIFIED

According to the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office, the analysis revealed violations in the issuing of licences and the organisation of passenger transport.

Some companies only formally complied with safety requirements. Carriers listed in their documents repair bases not suitable for servicing buses. The same specialists were simultaneously registered with several companies.

Cases of using insurance policies with expired validity were also identified. The violations also concerned requirements for the availability of tachographs, medical workers and technical specialists.

HOW CARRIERS WERE PUNISHED

The prosecutor's office established shortcomings in the work of state bodies responsible for licensing and control of transport. The authorised bodies did not promptly identify companies that failed to meet the established requirements.

Following the prosecutor's office's intervention, 124 carriers were brought to administrative liability, and the licences of 36 were terminated.

The officials responsible also received administrative and disciplinary penalties. The inspection of the remaining carriers continues.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE INJURED IN BUS ACCIDENTS

Since the beginning of 2026, the number of road traffic accidents involving bus drivers has increased from 606 to 644 cases, or by 5.9%.

As a result of these accidents, 24 people died and a further 955 were injured.

The Main Transport Prosecutor's Office continues to monitor the elimination of the identified violations.
