In the Almalinsky District Court of Almaty, the head of the city's Central Customs Laboratory, Satibaldiyev A., and chief specialist Alibekov B. have been sentenced.
According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, they were found guilty of receiving bribes from entrepreneurs for the expedited issuance of customs expert opinions.
The court imposed a sentence of 7 years' imprisonment on both Satibaldiyev and Alibekov, with a lifetime ban on holding positions in the civil service and quasi-governmental institutions.
In addition, customs brokers Nikolass V., Kazantseva S., and Garuni S. were found guilty of giving bribes and were fined. The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
Recall that in August, a sentence was passed in Astana against the deputy head of a customs post. She was accused of accepting a bribe. Alongside her in the dock was a certain female citizen, who was convicted of smuggling goods and giving a bribe.
