A verdict has been announced in the Suzak District Court of the Turkestan region regarding the director of the contractor organisation, LLP "Iri building," N.T. Abildinov, the director of the author's supervision, LLP "KAZ Design & Development Group LTD," L.A. Momot, the engineer of the author's supervision, S.M. Konchakov, and the owner of the technical supervision, LLP "Accredited Centre 'KZ Development'," B.S. Almatov.
According to the press service of Anticor, Abildinov was accused of embezzling 862 million tenge allocated for construction and installation work as part of the project to modernise the uranium mining enterprise at the Karatau mine.
The court found the director of LLP "Iri building" guilty and sentenced him to 8 years in prison. His accomplices, Momot, Konchakov and Almatov, were found guilty of aiding in the embezzlement, and each was sentenced to 7 years' imprisonment, suspended.
However, Konchakov was released from criminal liability and ordered to undergo compulsory treatment in a psychiatric hospital. The court also upheld the civil claim to recover material damages from the convicted individuals.
Recall that in November 2022, Anticor reported that the owner of LLP "Iri building" was a relative of Kairat Satybaldy – a certain B. Baiseitov. Incidentally, he is still wanted.
At the time, the investigation established that Baiseitov, using his family ties with Satybaldy, lobbied for the activities of the controlled company, LLP "Iri building."
Anticor believes that Baiseitov, while managing the company, distributed the funds received for the construction of the facility. Meanwhile, some of the equipment was never delivered, and the funds intended for it were stolen.
