Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry (MDDIAI) Askhat Orazbek stated that Kazakh citizens will now receive telephone numbers via the eGov portal or the eGov Mobile app.

As reported by the media citing the vice-minister, the MDDIAI also plans to limit the use of multiple SIM cards by a single person.

"We will return the numbering plan to the state, and citizens will receive mobile or landline numbers via the eGov portal or mobile app. We are limiting the number of SIM cards per individual and legal entity, which are currently obtained without control; perhaps SIM cards for commercial use will require justification for each number used. We will present these initiatives to you in the near future", said Orazbek.

According to him, in the fight against fraud, telecom operators have combined their anti-fraud centres, and now criminals will no longer be able to make spoofed calls on mobile operator networks. Consequently, fraudsters are mainly operating through the WhatsApp messenger, which domestic telecom operators cannot block.
