In the Akmola Region, a guilty verdict has been handed down in the case of illegal hunting on the territory of the Kokshetau State National Nature Park. The actions of the defendants have been classified under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
THE ESSENCE OF THE CASE
Three individuals illegally shot three Siberian roe deer in the protected zone of the Zerenda branch of the Kokshetau State National Nature Park, causing significant damage to wildlife.
The criminal case was heard with the participation of a jury.
THE PROSECUTION'S POSITION
Despite the defendants not admitting their guilt, based on the position of the state prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office of Zerenda District, their involvement in the commission of the crime was fully proven in court.
THE COURT'S VERDICT
- The organiser of the illegal hunt received 6 years of imprisonment
- Two accomplices received 2 years and 8 months of imprisonment each
- The vehicle used in the commission of the crime was confiscated to the state
The verdict has entered into legal force.
CONTEXT
This is the second guilty verdict under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year in this district.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Akmola Region reminded of criminal liability for encroachments on wildlife, including in specially protected natural areas.
