In the village of Merke, Zhambyl Region, 10 children from the private childcare centre «Nuray» were hospitalised with poisoning.
According to ORDA, nine children were admitted with acute intestinal infection, and one was diagnosed with enterovirus. One child was placed in intensive care; their condition is stable.
«The Sanitary and Epidemiological Control Department is already conducting an inspection: samples have been taken and the results of the examination are awaited», the Zhambyl Region akimat reported.
It has become known that the childcare centre was closed for two days for disinfection. Local authorities have promised to take measures following the inspection.
Recall that on 6 September, in the Beshshoky residential area of the village of Mangistau, Munaily District, Mangistau Region, 462 primary school children were mass poisoned after lunch in the canteen.
Minister of Health Akmaral Alnazarova stated that 462 schoolchildren sought medical help. 96 of them were hospitalised. Minister of Education Gani Beysembayev ordered inspections in all schools across the country.
At the same time, it became known that the school canteen was operated by IE «Shakenova D». It was reported that the enterprise's annual revenue is estimated at 2.5 billion tenge. Most contracts with the company were concluded via a single-source method.
On 16 September, specialists from the laboratory of the National Centre of Expertise of the Mangistau Region identified gross sanitary violations in the educational institution's canteen.
In 20% of the swab and smear samples taken from the school canteen, intestinal bacteria were found. Staphylococcus was detected in six canteen employees. Furthermore, a dishwasher and a food server were found to be carriers of dysentery.
In October, Minister of Education Gani Beysembayev reported that following this incident, the head of the Mangistau Region Education Department resigned, and the deputy akim of the region received a reprimand. Additionally, the school terminated its contract with the company supplying catering services.
In January of this year, four workers from the aforementioned school canteen were convicted for working without undergoing a medical examination. The defendants admitted to purchasing falsified medical certificates for 5,000 tenge.
In February, in the village of Kyzylsay, which is under the jurisdiction of the Zhanaozen city administration in the Mangistau Region, a mass poisoning of 100 children from one of the kindergartens occurred.
