Another mass poisoning of children in Mangystau Region

A new drama involving schoolchildren has occurred at the school in the village of Beyneu in the Mangystau region.

According to ORDA, citing the regional health department, on 12 September at around 7 pm, 16 students of the Zhumagali Kaldygarayev School visited the district ambulance station with complaints of abdominal pain.

"In the emergency department, they received oral rehydration and infusion therapy. As of 9:43 pm on 12 September, all children were sent home. The students' condition is stable. Today, all children are at school," the statement said.

It has become known that doctors suspect the children were poisoned by water. Specialists took samples from the school canteen and sent them for analysis. 

Recall that on 6 September in the Beshshoky residential area of the village of Mangystau, Munayly district, Mangystau region, primary schoolchildren were mass poisoned after lunch in the canteen. 

Minister of Health Akmara Alnazarova said that a total of 462 school students sought medical help. 96 of them were hospitalised, and 17 have already been discharged. Two, who were in intensive care, have been moved to a general ward. The remaining 387 children are receiving outpatient treatment. 

Minister of Education Gani Beysembayev said he had ordered inspections in all schools across the country. 

Meanwhile, it also emerged that the school canteen was run by Individual Entrepreneur 'Shakenova D'. It was reported that the company's annual turnover is estimated at 2.5 billion tenge. Most contracts with the company were concluded via single-source procurement.
