A teacher from a school in Atyrau has become the subject of a criminal case under the article of "Fraud". According to the investigation, she promised parents she would help their children gain admission to university and "secure a grant".
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", the teacher convinced parents that for a certain fee she could ensure free education for their children. It is noted that payments were made to her not only in cash but also in jewellery.
The story came to light at the start of the new academic year, when it became clear that no one had received the promised grants. Outraged parents demanded the teacher be dismissed and held accountable.
At the same time, it is noted that by handing over money for a "guaranteed grant", the parents effectively became accomplices in a corrupt scheme.
"Formally, they took part in a corrupt scheme, meaning they were not only victims of deception but also potential subjects of the case," the statement says.
The police confirmed that a criminal case has been opened under the article on "Fraud".
Recall that previously in Aktobe, a former chief accountant of two schools was sentenced. It was reported that she inflated her own salary and received money through employees, whom she asked to return overpaid amounts to her.
Among those involved were three teachers, including a PE teacher, as well as a mechanic and an electrician. In total, they handed over more than 21 million tenge to the accountant.
