Teachers substituted for schoolchildren during the final test in the Zhambyl region

In two schools in the Korday district of the Zhambyl region, cases of falsification of final testing were identified — teachers attempted to take the tests instead of students.

According to ORDA, at one school, staff set up a phone with a camera in the classroom to monitor the invigilators. After they left, adults remotely connected to the testing and prompted students with the correct answers.

At another school, the situation was even more flagrant — the testing supposedly took place "automatically". A device with access to the system answered the questions without the children's involvement.

"The school administrations violated the principles of academic integrity in their activities, failing to comply with the requirements of the Law 'On the Status of the Teacher' and the minister's order on matters of pedagogical ethics. All these facts were documented. The students were sent to retake the test", said Mukhit Nysanbayev, head of the territorial department.

Following the inspection, the ethics commission recommended taking disciplinary action against the principals of both educational institutions. Staff involved in the violations, including teachers and a school programmer, were also held accountable.

Officials reminded that educational organisations are obliged to immediately report all violations, including possible illegal fees related to certification and testing procedures.
