A Taraz businessman was hiding confiscated alcohol worth 110 million.

The Taraz prosecutor's office has uncovered the concealment of property confiscated to the state's revenue.

According to the press service of the department, earlier the specialised administrative court of Taraz ordered the confiscation of alcoholic products worth 110.2 million tenge from ASCO Pro LLP.

However, the former head of the enterprise decided to keep the confiscated goods for himself.

"In connection with this fact, the prosecutor's office of the city of Taraz has registered a criminal case under Article 425 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (unlawful actions in relation to property that has been inventoried or seized, or is subject to confiscation)", the report states.

As a result, Court No.2 of Taraz found the former head of the company guilty and sentenced him to 1 year and 3 months of imprisonment, with a ban on holding management positions in organisations of any form of ownership for 4 years.

At the same time, material damages in the amount of 110.2 million tenge were recovered from the convict in favour of the state's revenue.
