The Prosecutor's Office of Balkhash has identified violations in the procedure for paying compensation to students from large families and non-resident students.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Karaganda Region, two colleges did not pay the required compensation to students from large families.
"According to the legislation, students from large families studying under state order are entitled to free hot meals if their average per capita income does not exceed the level set by the state. In cases where hot meals are not provided, colleges are obliged to pay students compensation in the amount of the cost of meals," the statement says.
It became known that students from large families were not paid compensation totalling 4.7 million tenge.
In addition, non-resident students studying at colleges in Balkhash are entitled to compensation for travel during the winter and summer holidays.
"During the inspection, it was revealed that one of the colleges did not pay the required compensation to non-resident students for the winter period. As a result of the prosecutor's supervision, payments were made in full amounting to over one million tenge," the statement says.
