Samruk-Kazyna Foundation presented President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev with the neural network SKAI (Samruk-Kazyna Artificial Intelligence), which has become the first digital independent board member with voting rights in the region. The presentation took place in Astana as part of the international Digital Bridge forum.

According to the foundation's press service, SKAI is built on artificial intelligence and is designed to enhance transparency and quality in corporate governance.

The neural network analyses internal and external regulatory documents, board decisions dating back to 2008, and other accumulated materials. It is expected that this will enable more balanced and well-reasoned decision-making.

"Appointing an AI-based neural network to the Board of Directors is a quantum leap: technology and people begin to make decisions together, and digitalisation goes beyond processes to become part of the management philosophy," noted company Chairman Nurlan Zhakupov.

It was noted that particular attention was paid to security issues. SKAI operates within a closed loop on the Al Farabium supercomputer of Kazakhtelecom.

The foundation clarified that this system guarantees data protection and high-speed information processing. It is based on the Kazakh language model Alem LLM.

Earlier, the Head of State instructed the creation of a specialised research university in the field of artificial intelligence. The institution is planned to be given special status and to involve leading global universities in its work.

Incidentally, in September, Albania became the first country in the world to appoint a virtual personality, developed using artificial intelligence technologies, as a minister. The new minister is named Diella (translated from Albanian as "sun") and oversees the public procurement sector.
