The streets of the settlement of Tobol in the Beimbet Mailin district of Kostanay region are flooding due to a burst utility network.
According to the Telegram channel “Our Newspaper (Kostanay)”, on 18 August, sewage began flooding the basements of apartment blocks. According to local residents, the problem had been brewing for a long time.
They said that some people are fighting the burst sewer on their own - bringing sand and covering the sewage flows.
“The akim and the state enterprise ‘Tobol’ have been informed. Only the foreman of the state enterprise answered the calls; he said they cannot do anything yet, they have no electricity, the equipment is not working. And there are cables passing through there; tomorrow (Monday) they will start pumping out and inspecting,” the report states.
In turn, ORDA reports that later an entire microdistrict and the area in front of the railway station were flooded in the settlement.
