In Arys, a contract serviceman from one of the military units sustained a head injury from a traumatic weapon.

According to Ulysmedia.kz, citing the press service of the Shymkent garrison, this was a suicide attempt.

The department stated that the tragedy may have been caused by a domestic conflict. Investigative authorities are currently establishing the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

The wounded man was urgently taken to the district hospital, where he received the necessary medical care.

Doctors assess his condition as stable but critical. Despite the serious injury, there is no threat to his life. Law enforcement officers have opened a criminal case regarding the injury.

It is worth recalling that on 13 September, at the Military Institute of Ground Forces in Almaty, a sergeant committed suicide. The deceased was not a cadet, but a contract serviceman.

On the same day in Zhezkazgan, a company commander was wounded in the leg from a firearm while giving instructions during firearms training.

On 7 September, at military unit N25744 of the regional command 'West' in Aktau, a conscript soldier died as a result of a shot fired by the camp duty officer.

Later, a video was circulated online in which the father of the deceased claims that his son was shot in the face, and that this was allegedly done by an officer.

Against the backdrop of this tragedy, concerned citizens have created a petition calling for the abolition of compulsory military service. The authors believe that abolishing conscription in Kazakhstan is becoming relevant in light of the tragic deaths of servicemen.
