In the Akmola region, a poacher stole 40 birch saplings from the forest fund territory. The damage amounted to 1.5 million tenge.
According to Polisia.kz, an employee of RSE "Zhasyl Aimak" called the police department of Tselinograd district and reported the theft.
"The caller reported that on 26th September of this year, an unknown person in a Hyundai Solaris stole 40 birch saplings from the territory of the state forest fund," the report states.
During the search operations, police identified the suspect. He turned out to be a local resident who had previously been repeatedly held criminally liable.
Recall that in June last year, Akmola prosecutors, together with the Astana Urban Environment Control and Quality Department, conducted an inspection of RSE "Zhasyl Aimak".
Based on the inventory results, the survival and preservation rate of forest crops at "Zhasyl Aimak" was 61%. During the inspection, it was established that the aforementioned data did not correspond to reality. A 60% survival rate is considered the norm. Therefore, to create an illusion of well-being, the figure was inflated. In reality, the tree survival rate at the RSE ranges from 25% to 39%.
Journalist and agricultural expert Kirill Pavlov, in turn, stated that the capital's akimat provides false statistics on the survival of green spaces in the city, and that this conceals billion-tenge damage to the budget.
The expert noted that the akimat claims an inflated sapling survival rate of 90%. When asked what survival rate was forecast for the million plantings they intended to carry out, the akimat also answered 90%.
